Erica Bureau brings a multifaceted perspective to interior decorating, shaped by years working across fashion, beauty, hospitality, and retail environments. At Snyder Atelier, she takes Saskia’s vision for a room and sources what brings it to life — materials, furnishings, and the details that give a home its character and sense of ease.

Her introduction to interiors began with her own home in Paris: a duplex apartment that started as a small project and gradually evolved into a full renovation. What began with a bold wallpaper selection for the powder room expanded into a rethinking of the entire space — new parquet flooring, refined lighting, and furniture and art sourced to feel rather than to be expected. She was drawn to pieces not easily found in France, bringing in work from much-loved California brands alongside vintage and one-of-a-kind finds from Italy and Morocco. Over time, the project became less about individual selections and more about how everything came together. That experience continues to shape how she approaches client work at Snyder Atelier.

Erica’s academic journey began at Cornell University’s School of Human Ecology. Her professional path then took her into luxury consumer brands — including roles with Estée Lauder and Theory — where she learned that design identity is constantly refined and that small decisions shape the overall client experience.

She spent more than a decade living and working between Paris and London, including the buildout, product merchandising, and partnerships for the launch of a wellness concept at Galeries Lafayette, where she oversaw the selection of materials and lighting for a trend-forward spa concept — an experience that gave her a precise understanding of how material decisions translate into a finished environment. She also collaborated with emerging brands on product curation and press, and her work on logistics for Paris and Milan fashion weeks gave her a practical appreciation for project management when things don’t unfold as planned.

Having worked alongside architects, contractors, and vendors across multiple contexts, Erica understands the realities that shape a design beyond the initial concept. At Snyder Atelier, this translates directly into her sourcing work — finding pieces that feel specific to a home, mixing high and low, visiting showrooms with purpose, and bringing forward options clients wouldn’t typically encounter on their own.

Two years ago, Erica returned to her native La Jolla and focused her career on interiors. She is drawn to spaces that balance traditional structure with a current California sensibility. Outside of work, she is usually near the ocean, cooking, or traveling — always seeking out the best art museum or cultural destination.
